Steakholder Foods receives $1 million to 3D print cultured eel and grouper products

Israeli company Steakholder Foods is receiving up to $1 million in funding to collaborate with Umami Meats, also a Singapore-based food tech company. The goal of the multimillion-dollar investment is to advance the development of 3D-printed eel and grouper products. The first product, a hybrid grouper made from cultured fish meat, is expected to be ready before the end of the first quarter of 2023. For 3D printing, the partners will use Steakholder Foods’ proprietary 3D bioprinting technology, among others.
